This was my first time coming to the National Art Gallery in Kuala Lumpur, I specifically came for this immersive exhibition named Walking through a Song Line which showcases the work of aboriginal artists and their stories.
“based on a component of the National Museum of Australia’s internationally acclaimed exhibition Songlines: Tracking the Seven Sisters, which takes visitors on a journey along the epic Seven Sisters Dreaming tracks, the digital exhibition celebrates Australian Indigenous arts, culture, and creativity.” – by The Star
I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised, not just by the exhibit but the gallery itself and all the other rooms showcasing local artists’ work; I feel terrible that all the photos I took were on my iPhone, as it does absolutely no justice to the stunning artwork though, what I do hope from this post is it will encourage you to visit, walk around and take it all in for yourself, as a dear friend told me “we need more art in our life” and if we want to preserve and keep up the spirit of transforming, inspiring and storytelling, it’s essential that we (myself included) keep showing up to places like this and …. It’s FREE!
