Shop Local Edit – Nala Designs

Back with another Shop Local Edit, sharing the fashion and lifestyle brand Nala which I now question; why have I taken so long to blog about this?!

Nala is a lifestyle brand that specialises in pattern design. Inspired by Asian culture and heritage these patterns are translated to different mediums such as fabrics, wallpaper, handbags, clothing, accessories, home-ware and stationery.

All the illustrations are hand drawn, and then with the mix of colours and prints, it truly makes for a unique statement piece; when I step into a Nala store, I am immediately drawn to every little thing: there is much to be inspired by, from table runners, shopper bags, to 50’s style skirts and a go-to for gift ideas, here you can see each piece has been carefully thought through from the materials used; like the water-resistant placemats and reversible tissue boxes, the versatility and practicality make it that much more special.

The photo above is a perfect example of the combination of colours and patterns; I adore the jacaranda tree flower design on the mug, and it looks even lovelier on their clothing.

Although there is a considerable array to choose from, below are a handful of standout pieces that I think would add a little pop of colour to the home and our day-to-day. One of them (to my surprise) was gifted to me recently, which I, of course, was thrilled about and immensely grateful for…… it was the reversible tissue box cover which now sits nicely centre stage on my wooden coffee table in the living room.
